Nathan and Jorie are having a great time. After a long day of flights to get to Utah on Monday, we went to the paleontology lab at Brigham Young University on Tuesday. Nathan got to learn all about dinosaurs and touch hundreds of fossils there. He got to use a tool and extracted several bones from a large slab of rock. He was shown around by the Paleontologist who works there (He spent the whole day with us). Nathan had a wonderful time and said that his favorite part was digging out the bones.
Jorie was not that interested at first but than started enjoying herself when we went to another building and brought a large slab from there to the lab. By the end of the day she was enjoying the experience just as much as Nathan.
Everyone that we have met have been extra nice and very concerned that Nathan and the rest of us have a good time and have all our desires fulfilled. Brooks Britt, the paleontologist, spent hours showing Nathan around and telling him about dinosaurs. He gave Nathan a vertebra and Jorie a rib of a dinosaur that they just found and named. He was excellent about letting him touch things and answering our questions. There were students in the lab that also showed him things. Josh in particular was very nice.
Today we go to the museum and then drive to Vernal. It looks like we go through the mountains to get there. It should be pretty.
The family is definitely having our wishes come true.
