Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are matched to positions based on ability, interest, and position availability. Consider your skills, goals, and motivation for volunteering when deciding which position best suits your interests.

    Volunteer Opportunities include:
  •
    • Wish Granting Volunteer
    • Wish-Granting Volunteers are an integral part of fulfilling wishes. As a member of a wish team, you will meet with the family, ask the child about his/her desired wish and act as a liaison between the Foundation staff and the wish family during the wish process. Wish-Granting Volunteers are also encouraged to volunteer/help with at least one fundraising event per year. Attendance at a two and-a-half hour training session is required.
    • Fundraising Volunteer
    • Plan, organize, and implement successful fundraising events by working on event committees, helping out on the event day, and/or participating in the event. Other fundraising opportunities within your personal or professional network may include:
      • Organize a Frequent Flyer Mile Donation Campaign
      • Sell paper Make-A-Wish® star icons
      • Promote Workplace Giving
      • Serve as a Walk for Wishes® Team Captain
    • Regional Office Volunteer
    • Assist the office with various projects, such as: bulk mailing, thank you notes, data entry, phones, preparing packets, and other miscellaneous projects.
    • Students for Wish Kids or WishMakers on Campus Coordinator
    • These programs offer students of all ages and school staff members the exciting opportunity to assist in granting the wishes of children in their own community. Schools/groups have sold magnetic or paper wish stars, coordinated pie-in-the face or chili cook-of contests, or hosted talent shows – it’s all up to the students’ imagination!

Note: All Wish-Granting, Fundraising and Regional Office Volunteers must be 18 years of age and willing to submit to a criminal background check.
