Northeast Ohio Wishes

Sixteen year-old Maria is like a lot of girls her age. She loves the Twilight books and the colors pink and black. One of her favorite things to do is watch her favorite baseball team the New York Yankees win their way through a series.

Unlike most girls her age, Maria suffers from end stage renal failure. When Maria learned her condition qualified her for a wish, she knew right away she wanted to go to New York City, New York and cheer her favorite team onto victory!

Not only did Maria get to cheer on the Yankees, but she got to explore the big NYC sites, and go on a shopping spree! Maria’s mom Sharon stated, “The trip was fantastic! It allowed out family some quality time that was really needed. No worries of her doctor’s appointments or things we felt she couldn’t or shouldn’t do. The smile’s on Maria’s & her sister Miranda’s faces were priceless.”
