Christopher wishes to go to Hawaii

When a child with a life-threatening medical condition travels, it means so much more than a vacation. It serves as a respite for the child and their family away from tests, tubes and exam tables.

For 17-year-old Christopher, a vacation would provide a break for him and his family from his exhausting medical routine. This teen is battling cystic fibrosis and is on a comprehensive treatment plan to improve his quality of life.

Thanks to Jewelers for Children, Chris and his family traveled to Hawaii this summer. Their wish trip began as soon as they touched down on the Maui island of Kahului and were welcomed by lei greeters.

While in Hawaii, Chris and his family enjoyed snorkeling, Polynesian entertainment and tours of the tropical island. The Foundation provided Christopher with Hawaiian words and phrases to use.

Chris also celebrated his 17th birthday during the trip at Maui's traditional hula and feast, Old Lahaina Luau, with his family.

Chris had a magical time on his Hawaiian vacation. The memorable wish experience bound the family together and provided a beacon of hope for this courageous teen.
