For seven-year-old Emily who is battling mitochondrial disease there’s no obstacle too big, or, in the case of her wish come true, no mountain. Emily wished to go to Colorado to enjoy winter activities.
Emily’s wish came true in April when she and her family flew to Winter Park. Almost immediately after checking in to the Zephyr Mountain Lodge, her jam-packed week began. Emily’s wish trip itinerary included a hot air balloon above the Colorado Rockies, sit-skiing, exploring the mountains in a Snowcat, riding in a horse-drawn sleigh, and more. The highlight of her trip was tubing.
After Emily and her family returned from their wish trip, her mom, Beth, wrote a note to the Foundation:
I just wanted to let you know what an incredible trip we had. The accommodations were incredible and I can’t tell you how nice everyone was. The events were all spectacular! Tubing was a huge hit, Emily LOVED it! Emily and her sister, Sara, screamed “BEST DAY EVER” as they held hands racing down the hill!
