Make-A-Wish Foundation Announces Merger

Northwest Ohio to Join Greater Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana Chapter

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana will merge with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Northwest Ohio to form the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana Chapter on September 1, 2010.

The new chapter will serve 116,542 square miles and celebrate its 10,000th wish this year.

The merger will enable the northwest Ohio regional office lead by Executive Director Eric Slough to streamline its operations and tap into the resources of the shared services team based in Columbus, OH.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northwest Ohio has granted nearly 1,200 wishes since it was founded in 1984.

The northwest Ohio regional office will continue to raise funds, support volunteers and grant the wishes of seriously-ill children in the following 21 counties: Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana currently maintains a staff of about 40 across the five regional offices located in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN; and Louisville, KY. This realignment represents the fourth name change and the second merger for the organization; the Foundation merged with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Indiana in 2005.
