Brittany's Wish Come True

Since her life-changing diagnosis with Hodgkin’s disease, Noblesville native Brittany has been a fighter. The spunky 17-year-old is fighting a difficult battle against a cancer that affects the body’s ability to fight infection. With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region, Brittany had a pirate-themed 18th birthday party dream come true at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Indianapolis with her closest of friends and family!

Brittany had more than just her eighteenth birthday to celebrate. She just received word from her doctors that her most recent scans were cancer free!

“Because Brittany has such a fascination with pirates, we knew that a pirate-themed private birthday party would be the perfect way for her to celebrate with friends,” remarked Executive Director Juli Miller. “The Illinois Street Ballroom was donated by Crowne Plaza and we decked it out in everything a pirate could dream of so Brittany and her family and friends could enjoy a magical and memorable evening.”

The evening all came together with the help of Midwest ISO, Brittany’s wish sponsor. Sunny Moon DJ provided music, Miller Transportation bussed all of Brittany’s guests from Noblesville to the Crowne Plaza, Markey’s Rental Staging donated use of a screen and projector so that all of the party guests could play Rock Band on a Nintendo Wii and Fairytales Custom Cakery designed a personalized cake just for Brittany’s special day!

As a secret birthday surprise, Smiley from WZPL 99.5, was on hand to wish Brittany a very happy and healthy birthday!
