Thomas Receives His Greatest Wish From Mike Raisor Ford

Wish Child, Thomas with Mike Raisor
Mike Raisor Ford and the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region came together to grant a Rossville, Indiana wish child’s dream of modernizing his Ford pick-up truck.

Rossville native Thomas is a seventeen-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the white blood cells. Thomas was able to see his heartfelt wish of modernizing his Ford truck come true thanks to Mike Raisor Ford and the local community.

“On Christmas day, the local news paper ran a story about this project. This story produced unsolicited donations of money, material and even some physical labor from outside folks,” says Mike Heide, service manager of Mike Raisor Ford. “I’m sure I speak for the entire team at Mike Raisor Ford when I say thank you for allowing us to be a part of a truly amazing and fulfilling project.”

Thomas was in complete awe when he received his modernized truck in January. “Bertha was a ten year old well-loved Indiana truck. She was transformed with new paint, new badging (Bertha went from a F250 to a F350), fender flares, new tires, wheels, cab lights, nerf bars, new grille, headlights, bug guard, lift kit, chrome stacks and a new tailgate to round out the rear view,” remarked Robin Ridgeway, a Mike Raisor Ford customer and contributor to the wish.

“I would like to give a special thanks to Gary Brown, Melanie Holliday and the entire community for stepping up and lending a helping hand in Thomas’s wish,” commented Juli Miller, executive director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region. “In addition to Mike Raisor, we would like to extend our gratitude to the local suppliers who donated services and parts as well: Ziebart of Lafayette, Beck Muffler, The Tire Barn and Robin Ridgway and her daughter Katie (customers of Mike Raisor Ford who donated their time to help build Thomas' truck).”
