Wish Stories

Having Leukemia at the age of three is not easy, but Rebecca did not let the cancer stop her from having a wonderful week with her family in Walt Disney World^®. Rebecca told Make-A-Wish^® volunteers that she dreamed of meeting the Disney princesses.

Rebecca’s dream came true over Christmas when Rebecca and her family traveled to Florida, leaving Rebecca’s medical issues behind for the week. During her “once-in-a-lifetime experience”, Rebecca not only met all of the Disney princesses, she and her sister, Lilly, were able to become princesses for a day! Rebecca and her family will never forget their wonderful wish experience.

In the words of Becca (with some help from Wish Mom, Trish):
"Mommy, Daddy, Lily, and I want to sincerely thank the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Give Kids the World Village, its sponsors and thousands of volunteers, for making my dreams come true this holiday season.

I said I wished to meet the princesses, but who would've guessed I could feel like royalty, too? I had heard that they made it really special for "wish kids" and that there would be lots of surprises, but I had no idea of the extent to which these terrific organizations would go to make our trip so perfect. I would have to say that this was definitely the best week of my life and I believe my sister would say the same. We truly enjoyed ourselves!"
