Austin was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a condition which causes underdevelopment of the left side of the heart. Like most boys his age, he loves watching wrestling matches, Cincinnati Bengals football games, Cincinnati Reds baseball games. His favorite baseball team is the Anaheim Angles.
When the Fairfield, Ohio native met with Make-A-Wish volunteers deciding on his perfect wish was not a struggle at all. Austin wished for the opportunity to travel to Anaheim, California and watch his favorite baseball team, the Angels, play ball and serve as the game announcer. Austin dreams of someday becoming a famous broadcaster. In April 2009, Austin’s wish was granted when he threw the first pitch, served as an announcer during the second inning and enjoyed a VIP experience that made his wish a “homerun”. Austin’s wish was made possible by University of Cincinnati who held fundraisers during Greek Week.
