Southern Ohio Wishes

Sixteen-year-old Garth, who is battling a cardiomyopathy, the deterioration of the heart muscle, has always been a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. A native of Williamsburg, Ohio, Garth has always followed his favorite baseball team and coincidently his favorite color is red! In addition to being a baseball enthusiast, Garth enjoys studying history in school, eating pizza and watching football.

When Garth told Make-A-Wish Foundation^® volunteers that he wanted to watch the Cincinnati Reds play an away game, the VIP treatment was on order! His wish came true in May 2009 when he traveled to San Diego to watch his favorite team in action. Garth also was able to watch batting practice on the field, meet the Reds players and famed sportscaster, Marty Brennaman and see the game from VIP seats in the third row behind home plate.
