Twelve-year-old Kyle, who is battling Ulcerative Colitis and Autoimmune Hepatitis, will enjoy an electronics and fashion forward shopping spree thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region. Kyle is battling Ulcerative Colitis, a disease that includes painful open sores in the colon. He also suffers from Autoimmune Hepatitis, a disease in which the body’s immune system attacks liver cells causing inflammation.

Kyle and his family were whisked away to Circle Center Mall, where he visited American Eagle, Verizon Wireless, Bath and Body Works, and Finish Line. Following the mall he made a quick stop to Wal-Mart, where employees assisted Kyle’s way in making all of his wishes come true. He was welcomed by friends and family, and then began his dream shopping spree. A thoughtful employee at Lids hat store went above and beyond by raising funds to buy Kyle a Nintendo Wii and supplied Kyle’s parents with a gas card to ease the expenses incurred from making frequent hospital trips.

Dedicated Make-A-Wish volunteers working with Kyle came together to raise the funds to send Kyle and his family on the shopping spree of his dreams. Kyle was able to pick out a new cell phone, lap top, brand new clothes and a few other goodies! When the high-tech, high-fashion shopping spree came to an end, Kyle and his family were treated to dinner at Red Lobster and a night of game playing at Jillian’s.
“Kyle really wanted to go on a shopping spree to purchase gadgets that he would never be able to purchase on his own,” remarked Lori, Kyle’s mom. “We were so touched when Kyle told his wish volunteers that he wished to share his special day with myself, my husband and our daughters.”
