A charismatic little girl who loves to perform, Olivia enjoys gymnastics, dance, soccer, and acting in plays. The seven-year-old, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006, was offered the magical opportunity to make her wish come true when her social worker referred her to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
®.
When Make-A-Wish volunteers asked, “If you could make one wish, what would it be?” Olivia said that she would like a space with a mirror, a ballet bar, tumbling mats, and a stage for performing!
This play area, which includes a slide she can ride down to get into the basement, was made possible by nearly 30 companies who donated materials, labor and expertise to create a special space for Olivia. Mike Sheridan from Owens Construction took the lead in securing donations, organizing the project and coordinating with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“We are deeply grateful for the support we have received from Owen’s Construction and the community who made Olivia’s wish a reality,” remarked Executive Director Tim McCarthy.
