Indiana Wishes

A day full of wishes; a life full of Miracles

Miracle and her mom open a gift“Miracle” is defined as “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.” Indianapolis native, Miracle is nothing short of the words that define her name. As the lone survivor of a pair of twins born prematurely, three-year-old Miracle is battling cardiac arrest and respiratory problems which have left her non-verbal.

When Miracle and her mother, Britiany, were approached by caring Make-A-Wish® volunteers who asked her, “If you could have one wish, what would it be?” she “asked” for a fabulous shopping spree. Since Miracle is unable to speak, her wish presented some unique challenges. That is until stores in the Edinburgh community went above and beyond by offering discounts and decorating fitting rooms for little Miracle.

Miracle selected a new bed and rocking chair for her bedroom, a closet full of cool new clothes, and a treasure trove of toys. As a final surprise, Miracle and her Mom were joined by Make-A-Wish Foundation® volunteers, friends and family for dinner at the Crackle Barrel Restaurant. While at the restaurant, a customer was so inspired by Miracle’s story that she gave the brave little girl a special necklace and picked up the tab for the party!

Miracle has truly earned her name!
