A trip to Hawaii proved to be the perfect getaway for eight-year-old Matthew from Hebron, Kentucky and his family, who described the impact of the wish in a letter:

Throughout the whole process Matthew felt so special and knew he was in charge of creating this amazing dream. Our fate was in his hands! The whole experience was life changing. After a very difficult year of ups and downs, we were all able to spend time as a family and thank God that Matthew is okay and in remission.
