Students of all ages can raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in their communities through a variety of projects. Whether it's a dance, coin drive or a car wash, the project is entirely student driven from start to finish with guidance and support along the way from parents, teachers, peers, and Make-A-Wish staff.

In addition to participating in a gratifying philanthropic service, the school and student programs offers a hands-on fun and creative way to make a positive difference in the lives of children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions. When your fundraising efforts raise $6,000, the average value of a wish, you may have the opportunity to sponsor the wish of a local child.

Spring Fling Birthday Bash

Inspired by the wish her 18-year-old brother Ian received last year, Sarah wanted to find a way to “give back” to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Ian, Sarah and their entire family of eight spent a week at an Atlantis Resort as part of the wish Ian received after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Sarah and eight of her friends hosted a “Spring Fling Birthday Bash” for their entire senior class at a local Westerville swimming pool. Donations made in lieu of birthday gifts yielded over $725 toward sponsoring the wish of another Westerville resident, Sam. Sam’s wish to visit the many Florida theme parks was granted this summer. Happy Birthday Sarah and Friends!

Middletown Christian Church - Preschool

Wilbur collects donations for Make-A-WishMiddletown Christian Church Preschool in Louisville, Kentucky raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® with the help of a “piggy” bank named Wilbur. The preschool kids, ages 2 to 5, brought change in everyday to help Wilbur gain weight. Each week they weighed Wilbur to see how much heavier he was from the previous week. The school’s goal was to have Wilbur weigh 100 pounds and to raise $500 to help grant wishes. At the end of their campaign Wilbur weighed an astounding 150 pounds and they were able to raise over $850!

North Todd Elementary in Ekton, Kentucky (Todd County) Raises $12,234.39!

Wish ChildNorth Todd Elementary raised an astounding $12,234.39 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana through the '07-'08 Students for Wish Kids program. The children and faculty raised funds in honor of a local wish child that attends their school, and through all of their efforts they were not only able to help her but many other children in the area. Students were able to raise funds in many different ways. Some took part in organized competitions throughout the school, others asked friends and family and even some brought in their piggy banks. One of the many fundraisers they had was Pajama Day where each student got to wear pajamas to school for a $1 donation.

Since 2005 the students and faculty of this school have been able to raise an astounding $28,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
