The fourth grade class of 56 students wanted to adopt a wish for someone around their own age. They set out to raise the funds at bake sales, doing chores around the house and even requesting contributions be made to Make-A-Wish in lieu of gifts at their birthday parties. Their efforts generated more than $8,000.
The Greek organizations on campus helped grant more than 5 wishes during 2008. The sororities and fraternities raised $33,000 from various activities including a 5K walk.
A Disney theme was used during this year’s Greek Week.
North Todd Elementary raised an astounding $12,234.39 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana through the '07-'08 Students for Wish Kids program. The children and faculty's raised funds in honor of a local wish child that attends their school, but through all of their efforts they were not only able to help her but many other children in the area. Students were able to raise funds in many different ways. Some took part in organized competitions throughout the school, others asked friends and family and even some brought in their piggy banks. One of the many fundraisers they had was Pajama Day where each student got to wear pajamas to school for a $1 donation.
