Miss Louisville 2008, Candace Shoemaker, is a contestant for Miss Kentucky 2008. Her platform is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Miss Louisville will be volunteering and making special appearances on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"The reason I feel so strongly about the Make-A-Wish Foundation is because last year I took a trip to Africa and witnessed the pain diseased children experienced without any hope. This organization gives hope and blesses children who are living difficult lives. Ever since my trip to Africa, I have become passionate about helping hurting children in any way that I can. That's why I chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation as my platform - because it is making a HUGE difference in the lives of children with life threatening diseases! I can not wait to start being a part of this foundation and helping to change other children's lives!"
