When volunteers Sue & Greg Wetzel first spoke with six-year old Jerrico’s family, they were a little surprised to hear that his favorite past time was watching the WWE perform every week, but it became more than apparent at their first visit with Jerrico. “He was watching it when we arrived,” Sue said, “and he giggled though the whole thing.” When asked what his wish might be, Jerrico had no trouble letting them know that he wanted to meet at least four WWE wrestler’s and see them perform live!
In 2004 the Mansfield youth, who suffers from Freeman Sheldon Syndrome, got just that. Jerrico and his family were transported in luxury to Cleveland where from there they flew to Washington D.C. for four fun filled days in our Nation’s capital. Jerrico and his family had time to explore the city – they headed to the National Zoo, the Smithsonian and even a tour of the White House, but all that paled in comparison to Jerrico’s ultimate dream.
Jerrico had the pleasure of meeting his number one favorite wrestler Triple H. His excitement didn’t stop there, however, Triple H brought many of his friends and even a few WWE adversaries too to meet with Jerrico. The evening was topped off with a live performance of the WWE’s Monday Night Raw show. This along with meeting his favorite and many more of the wrestlers left Jerrico feeling as if his wish had been the perfect gift.
